Will Apple Car be responsible for putting that Dent in the Universe !

Apple-Auto-
Greetings Tech Buddies

Many of you have commented on the possibility of Apple producing an Automobile , the rumor mill has been buzzing and I have to admit that the thought of Apple producing an Electric Car is exciting.

It is true that Apple has a Team of about 200 people working on a project focusing on automobile technology. It contains many professionals from other auto industry companies including Tesla. So if you believe that Where there is smoke there is fire this is a curious fact. It may well be that all these mechanical personnel may be working on Apple’s Car Play initiative but that seems unlikely. The size of the group and the budget dedicated to it is not consistent with with the needs of Car Play. Continue reading “Will Apple Car be responsible for putting that Dent in the Universe !” »

Apple and IBM partnering, Karma ? Will Apple and Microsoft’s relationship come full circle?

I love when current events have links to past events and coincide with history it’s like putting together a karmic puzzle. With the recent announcement that IBM and Apple will be collaborating on bringing IOS to IBM’s enterprise clients we have a great example of how Karma works.

IMG_1553.JPG

This partnership should not surprise anyone , IBM’s relationship with Microsoft was not a pleasant experience while their business dealings with Apple have always been very professional. If you have been following technology as closely as I have for the last thirty years you probably remember that Microsoft originally grew by developing software at the behest of Apple Computer.

Microsoft started by developing Word Processors and Spreadsheets for the Macintosh Platform (see the 1983 video of Apple Sales Conference presentation in which Bill Gates and others play suitors to Apple’s Macintosh business. Steve Jobs unveils “One More Thing ” @ the 2014 WWDC, finally able to RIP

On Monday June 2nd,  Steve Jobs of Apple Inc. unveiled what will most likely become his Greatest Product to date.  Although passing away almost three years ago , Steve was able to unveil

“One More Thing”

steve & tim

Tim Cook’s Apple

Like many of the products unveiled by Steve in his history at Apple Computer as well as Pixar and now Apple Inc. they are not so much a revolution as an evolution. Apple’s secret sauce has always been the ability commoditize technology and place it into the hands of the public as a useful tool for change. Steve once talked of producing a personal computer as friendly to use “for the rest of us” as a household appliance. In 1977 there were a handful of personal computers before the Apple 1 , and once again in 1984 (working as a pirate within his own company) he saw the need to replace the design with a more user-friendly UI the result became the Macintosh which today we call the iMac. This formula could be applied to software as well as hardware as in spreadsheets, desktop publishing, MacWrite, MP3 players, iTunes, Mobile Phones, iPad, iBook Author, iTunes U etc. all required a dash of Apple’s special sauce to make those product categories relevant and groundbreaking. Here’s an idea for Apple to move Apple TV forward

20131116-181520.jpg< ! While Apple tries to navigate the television and movie business industry, here is an idea that may acts as a Trojan horse. Apple should let PBS develop an app for the Apple TV.

This move would allow Apple to avoid dealing in all the network muck , provide a quality viewing experience , provide a proof of concept for other channels , attract a new demographic and serve the public good by raising hard to find revenue for public television.

Unlike other channels PBS is a station that is required by the FCC to be carried on their systems so cable companies can not threaten to pull them off air. For that matter Apple should also let Cspan be carried as well.

I would be someone who would pay say $5.50 a month to subscribe to a live feed of Public TV.

Steve’s Jobs yacht has been dock at Rybovich Marina in West Palm Beach for a couple of weeks but recent activity suggest that it is being prepped for a cruise.

Is Apple Poised to Change the World Again ?

What will be the Apple’s NeXt Big Thing. Can Apple pull off the most important product introduction of maybe all time? I believe so and here is why!

20130327-163908.jpg
3D printing technology is at the same point that the personal computer was when the Steve’s were beginning to produce the Apple 2. That little packaging of computing power unleashed a wave of industrial growth not seen since the utilization of the Assembly line at the beginning of The Industrial Revolution. The technology for 3D printing has reached a cost factor approaching a pro consumer level. Like the laser printer introduced by Apple in 1984 the 3D printer would benefit from Apple’s unique ability to simplify and commoditized the product. Apple also uniquely processes the ability to build the subsystems for unifying, developing and distributing software.
Macintosh Pro Computer line (trucks) would find a new life as a leader in industrial design and production.

More Beatles on iTunes !! Magical Mystery Tour a Fair Deal for Both Apples

Magical Mystery Tour

Looks like the iTunes deal on all things Beatles continues, it was once thought that Apple had negotiated a one year deal , it looks as if that deal is for a longer period. Also note that Apple Inc. has gained the Apple Corp. Apple Logo which like all the Beatles media shares the rights with the Beatles empire , The best for both Apples,

Kudos to Steve for working that deal.

Federal agency to switch to iPhone, drops BlackBerry & finds Android deficient !!

(Reuters) – The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) said it will end its contract with BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd in favor of Apple Inc’s iPhone, dealing a new blow to RIM just months before it launches a vital new device.

The Real Story here is that the government also evaluated Google’s Android OS and found it lacking

It also said it analyzed Apple’s iOS-based devices and Google Inc’s Android operating system and concluded that, for the near term, Apple’s iPhone services offer the best technology for the agency because of Apple’s tight controls of the hardware platform and operating system.

The agency said the iPhone will be used by a “variety of agency personnel, including, but not limited to, Homeland Security Investigations, Enforcement and Removal Operations and Office of the Principal Legal Advisor employees.

Why anybody should be surprised by this boggles the mind GOOGLE IS IN THE BUSINESS OF CAPTURING YOUR DATA AND PROVIDING IT TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. THAT’S ONE REASON THEY DEVELOPED ANDROID AND PROVIDE IT AT NO COST. THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF MAKING THEIR DEVICES SECURE. tv

Samsung Dumping Apple? Really!

Strange report coming out of The Korean Times on Monday 10/22 reporting that Samsung will be terminating it’s 15 Billion a year contract with Apple Inc. to supply the electronics giant with LCD screens.

Hmm , me thinks Samsung is trying to save face here, Apple has been methodically moving all its valuable business away from Samsung, a company who has shown disrespect for its largest clients best interests. tv

Update 10/22/2012 – A spokesperson for Samsung has denied this report.
