Federal agency to switch to iPhone, drops BlackBerry & finds Android deficient !!

(Reuters) – The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) said it will end its contract with BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd in favor of Apple Inc’s iPhone, dealing a new blow to RIM just months before it launches a vital new device.

The Real Story here is that the government also evaluated Google’s Android OS and found it lacking

It also said it analyzed Apple’s iOS-based devices and Google Inc’s Android operating system and concluded that, for the near term, Apple’s iPhone services offer the best technology for the agency because of Apple’s tight controls of the hardware platform and operating system.

The agency said the iPhone will be used by a “variety of agency personnel, including, but not limited to, Homeland Security Investigations, Enforcement and Removal Operations and Office of the Principal Legal Advisor employees.

Why anybody should be surprised by this boggles the mind GOOGLE IS IN THE BUSINESS OF CAPTURING YOUR DATA AND PROVIDING IT TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. THAT’S ONE REASON THEY DEVELOPED ANDROID AND PROVIDE IT AT NO COST. THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF MAKING THEIR DEVICES SECURE. tv

Samsung Dumping Apple? Really!

Strange report coming out of The Korean Times on Monday 10/22 reporting that Samsung will be terminating it’s 15 Billion a year contract with Apple Inc. to supply the electronics giant with LCD screens.

Hmm , me thinks Samsung is trying to save face here, Apple has been methodically moving all its valuable business away from Samsung, a company who has shown disrespect for its largest clients best interests. tv

Update 10/22/2012 – A spokesperson for Samsung has denied this report.

Miracle on 34th Street? Tim Cook sends Macy customers to Gimbals, Wall Street Boys have their day!

Jeez, if you listen to all the dopey commentary out there you would think Apple had a problem on their hands, Let’s step back a minute #1 Apple walks a fine line when it comes to software, for the most part Apple places apps on their devices to set a bar for third parties to emulate. From day one, Apple’s has not made it their mission to produce the best software product, rather they will offer a product to fill a needed application gap. Apple believes that great software sells great hardware the Apple 2 made history because of a spreadsheet called Visicalc. Mac needed MacWrite before MSFT produced Word & Office.  It is what has always set them apart from Microsoft, they wish to encourage third-party companies to produce great software, Apple wants a diverse echo system. #2 The new Map App has been fine for me so far but if I don’t like it, which is the case with the new podcast app I will look to a third-party. There must be one hundred navigation apps out there, priced from $.99 to $79.99. Right now the competition is exploiting an issue (they need something) and the Wall Street boys like to play the ups and downs so they add fuel to the fire.

No Big Deal!
