Will Apple introduce “The iWatch”, Should Dick Tracy Watch Out !

Thx to ADR Studios for this concept design

With Apple changing the design of the iPod Nano and what looks to be a modified version of IOS could it be that Apple will be introducing an iWatch with capabilities to interface with the iPhone and iPad? I think there exists a very strong possibility.

Apple may see a market to populate these devices with custom apps like weather, exercise pedometers, email, twitter and text monitors, health apps, remote controls and Siri interface to control it all. This is a market Apple could really get into especially design wise. I can see Jony Ive having a lot of fun designing a “Fashion Accessory ” combined with a separate SDK allowing third parties to develop apps for it, this could be very interesting.

The technology of Star Trek and Dick Tracy may finally be upon us.

The Verdict is in, The Apple v Samsung case is a win for American Business !

Today’s verdict justly comes on the anniversary of Steve Jobs voluntarily stepping down from his leadership role @ Apple. This issue with competitors was a chief concern for Apple’s CEO and I am sure he would be very pleased with this victory. The California jury decision is not only a win for Steve Jobs and Apple, it is a win for all American businesses that value the ideals of true and fair competition. Samsung’s distasteful public statement after the verdict is only further proof that Samsung just does not get it. Ingrained in their company’s culture is the concept that competing in business is only a matter of efficient production irregardless of the products origin, environmental concerns or working conditions. Apple plays by the rules agreed upon by international business and so should Samsung. While most Pacific Rim corporations follow a business model of copying other companies innovation and reproducing a less expensive version, Samsung has deliberately crossed the line by stealing trusted information from their own client and using it to compete against their own client.

Apple said in a statement provided to The Loop.

“The mountain of evidence presented during the trial showed that Samsung’s copying went far deeper than even we knew. The lawsuits between Apple and Samsung were about much more than patents or money. They were about values. At Apple, we value originality and innovation and pour our lives into making the best products on earth. We make these products to delight our customers, not for our competitors to flagrantly copy. We applaud the court for finding Samsung’s behavior willful and for sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn’t right.

Did Samsung’s Attorneys actually help Apple win their fight? Apple is right to stand tall!

During Samsung’s confusing closing arguments many of the points made by their Attorneys in one area actually strengthened Apple’s cause in others.

I am sure that the jury picked up on this.

this is not the result of competition, this is the result of a corporate culture that has been weaned on copyism (my new word), their lack of innovation and their addiction to copyism has served these companies fine when stealing industries from the innovators using low labor costs and toxic manufacturing to compete. tv Continue reading “Did Samsung’s Attorneys actually help Apple win their fight? Why Microsoft should Purchase Radio Shack

Those that follow my work know that I have been predicting that Microsoft is going to follow Apple’s lead and go vertical (click link below). With that in mind, Microsoft would need to develop it’s own distribution channel , I think the boys from Redmond should take a look at Radio Shack to quickly satisfy their needs. Below I attempt to make my case.

Windows/ Metro 8, Microsoft’s desperate strategy for Survival, Revealed!

“Anyone with any computer experience knows this OS is a dud, a red herring in drag. Microsoft however seems to be betting that their clients will not look too closely”

Sigmund Freud and the sinking of the Titanic

Although Microsoft makes lots of money in a lot of different ways, their core business is built upon its ability to license the Windows OS, everything stems from that. Without that solid base stability its structure will begin to collapse. The same fact holds true for Microsoft’s newly designated nemesis, Google, whose existence is built on its search engine business. Below I layout what I see as Microsoft’s survival strategy . “Apple can’t ignore us,”says Otellini, Maybe,Maybe not says I

During Intel’s annual investor day on Thursday, CEO Paul Otellini outlined the company’s plan to leverage its multi-billion-dollar chip fabrication plants, thousands of developers and industry sway to catch up in the lucrative mobile device sector, reports Forbes.

“Our job is to ensure our silicon is so compelling, in terms of running the Mac better or being a better iPad device, that as they make those decisions they can’t ignore us,” Otellini said.

The problem for Intel is two fold, First; this happens only if Apple is able to customize Intel’s chip to their specifications in order to maintain its dominance over competitors. Many reviewers neglect to credit Apple’s customized chips for the smooth user experience Apple can create by this process. Android like the Windows platform suffers from lowest common denominator approach to satisfy the many hardware accommodations needed to support their system. Second: Currently Apple’s ARM processors are produce by its untrustworthy manufacturer Samsung. Apple knows enough not to put all it’s eggs in one basket the beauty of ARM is that Apple can choose from many manufacturers, their problem encounter with Samsung is one of huge supply, Apple is working boldly to help other producers come up to speed, see related post below Maybe Intel can be trusted but they would have to supply a very compelling product, which I think is what Otellini is referring to. tv
